Google can now help you to find legal imagery

Smart marketingon July 15th, 20091 Comment

Google has just updated its ever popular image search to guide users towards using legal imagery – that is imagery which has the consent of the copyright holder. Whilst some people may describe it as a murky area – ’stealing’ other people’s imagery – it is actually quite clear cut.

The Creative Commons Licensing scheme has been around for a number of years and provides a simple labelling scheme for users to see if and how a particular image can be reused. Often, it’s simple case of providing an acknowledgement – in other cases, imagery or video are simply not allowed to be reused.

Google can now help in your quest to find the right images… take a look at their new service here.
